Meanwhile, amid growing concerns over the use of US military drones in combat, President James Heller pays a visit to London to negotiate a treaty to continue their basing on British soil. Having heard rumors of an imminent attack against Heller, Bauer resurfaces in the city, where he is apprehended by the CIA and forcibly recruited into joining their investigation. As forces within the White House conspire against him, Bauer realizes that the complexity of the plot extends beyond a presidential assassination, and that the consequences of a successful attack will alter the course of history. With the help of a disgraced CIA agent and a hacker collective preaching free information, he must confront an unseen enemy whose personal vendetta threatens to push the world to the brink of war.

This is sadly the same insane jingoism that grew like a cancer on the original show.<br/><br/>It is somewhat silly to set in London and then have the CIA running around like an American law enforcement agency, firing guns without quickly get shot by the Met (having a gun in your hand in the UK gets you shot quite quickly!) It suffers from the same hero centric morality that becomes increasingly laughable.<br/><br/>The new additions to the cast are all quite dull and Lady Stoneheart the villain is entirely 2 dimensional. The President Heller just comes acrossthe poor man's President Bartlett.<br/><br/>Watch Homeland instead a much better and more morally complex show.
I am (or was) a 24 fan. Jack was welcome to tear up any place and person he felt like with my blessing, and he did about every 3 minutes. But then he turns up in good old blighty and does it here against a backdrop of hurried takes, badly wooden extras and a total disregard for our very strict and welcome gun laws. And it pee'd me off! The totally American view of the UK is way out of the park and bares no relation to the country that has given me a good, safe, fear free life for over 40 years, all without a gun in sight. It now seems that the CIA can run around with weapons drawn, blasting away at whatever with impunity whilst bossing us around at their every whim. We're portrayeda bunch of soft incompetents that wouldn't have a clue if it wasn't for good old Uncle Sam. Pure BS and a touch racist in my view. Certainly arrogant in a way only Yanks can be. Seems like they've never even heard of the SAS. I'm not including any plot or character analysis in this reviewit would be pointless. If you're American please don't think this is the UK; if you do you're just not welcome here. If you're British take comfort in the fact that no CIA agents or any others would be allowed to run around toting metal in this way. If they did they would be busted and thrown to the dogs. Because this show stretches reality to such a degree it lost me totally and I just want Jack dead, the egotistical psycho'. End of.

Mostly, no. There were rumors that the real-time format of the series had been abandoned, in favor of a 12-hour format that would be a condensed version of a 24-hour day. However, the bulk of the series is still in real-time, with every 1-hour episode depicting an hour within the series. <br/><br/>It is only in the final episode, 10 minutes before the end, that there is a flash-forward of 12 hours. As a result, the series starts at 11:00 AM, and ends at 11:00 AM the next day. It still encompasses 24 hours, but skips one block of 12 hours within it.
